Your first step on the way to becoming a diver.

Scuba Equipment

What is the SSI Open Water Diver programme?

Very simple... The course consists of 3 parts.

Theory part

You have 6 lessons and learn the basic principles of diving.

Understanding how and why you can dive, how you can handle the equipment, safety rules...

And you get enough material to impress friends in a conversation.

Training in confined water

Your first contact with the water

During this session, you learn to set up the equipment, breathe underwater, resolve problems, and handle the equipment and the environment. All in the controlled conditions of a swimming pool.

So you feel more confident, and you only have to worry about learning skills and practicing.

Open water training

It's time to get down to business...

You will have to make 4 open water dives.
This means... in the sea.

In these dives, you practice the skills you learnt in the pool, develop your buoyancy control, and get a front-row seat to the spectacle of marine life.

What does the Open Water SSI course include?

  • Digital Manual: A manual that you can access right from the first moment and in any place. Study at your own rhythm and with no stress.

  • Full scuba diving equipment: You can choose from a large variety of sizes to adapt quickly and enjoy from the very beginning

  • Scuba diving insurance during your course: It is very important because of the possible events that could happen. Don't bother finding one and paying for it.

  • International SSI Open Water Diver certificate: Recognized even on the most remote island in the Pacific... As long as there is a dive center there, of course...

The differences are always made by the dive center and the team of people who accompany you.
That is why it is my turn to convince you to choose us.

What are the prerequisites to do the SSI Open water Diver course?

In order to access the course, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be 10 years old.

  • Know how to swim.

  • Medical Questionnaire.

Do I need a medical certificate to take the course?

You can download it here.

What is the difference between the PADI Open Water Diver course and the SSI Open Water Diver course?

The PADI Open Water Diver course and the SSI Open Water Diver course offer you the same worldwide recognized certification with the same attributions.

But there are differences between the training offered by Padi and the one offered by SSI that will interest you:

  • SSI has a more versatile and intuitive online study platform.

  • SSI has the manuals of all its courses in more than 40 languages.

  • With SSI you have access to the APP where you not only have your manuals. You also have information about centers, dives, and a log book. You will have everything at your fingertips and with easy access.

Do I have to go to the center to do the theory part?

You can do all the theory part of the course wherever you want, but it is necessary that you do the questionnaires and the exam at the dive center.
We are also available to answer any questions you may have.

What can I do with the SSI Advanced Adventurer certification?

Your depth limit is up to 18 meters, and you can dive with a buddy with the same or higher certification.
Once you have the SSI Open Water certification, you can access further dive training.

What is the next level, and what do I need access to?

The next level we recommend you access is the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue. You can also access any of the SSI Speciality courses.

Do I have to book the course in advance?

Yes, the sooner, the better as we have limited places, and we need to know in advance, so we can plan everything as best as possible.

Don't worry if you book in advance, as you can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before, and we will refund you 100%.

When should I start?

Select the day you would like to start below.

Once you arrive, we will organize the rest of the course with you :)
