There are two options to try scuba diving for the first time.
SSI Try Scuba Diving programme.
Your first dive to a maximum depth of 6 meters if you are over 10 years.
Kids aged 8 and 9 can dive to a depth of 2 meters.
The duration is two and a half hours from the time we pick you up until we take you back to your hotel.
We teach you the basic knowledge and skills to make your first dive as easy as possible.

1 dive we normally do in Playa Jablillo (Costa Teguise) or Playa Chica (Puerto del carmen).

We pick you up from your accommodation, take you to the dive site, and take you back to your hotel.
SSI Basic Diver programme.
With this option, you can make two dives.
The first dive will be to 6 meters and the second to 12 meters.
The minimum age to do it is 10 years old.
The duration is five and a half hours from the time we pick you up to the time we take you back to your hotel.
On the first dive:

You learn how to breathe underwater.

We teach you the basic signals, skills, and rules to dive safely.

You dive up to 6 meters, for about 45 min.
After the first dive, we go for a second one.
On this one, you will have even more fun:

You dive between 6 and 12 meters.

You practice the basic skills again.

We teach you how to use the BCD to practice buoyancy control to have more freedom of movement underwater.

Again, the dive lasts around 45 minutes.
You get a certificate that is valid for 6 months and can be recognized as part of the Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver training.

What else do you need to know?
What are the prerequisites to do the SSI Try Scuba?
In order to access the course, you need to meet the following requirements:

Be 8 years old.

Know how to swim.

Medical questionnaire.
Do I need a medical certificate to do the SSI Try Scuba?
No.
You have to fill in a medical questionnaire with questions about your health.
You only need a medical certificate if you answer "yes" to any of the questions in the questionnaire.

What is the difference between the PADI and SSI?
There are differences between the training offered by Padi and the one offered by SSI that will interest you:

SSI has a more versatile and intuitive online study platform.

SSI has the manuals of all its courses in more than 40 languages.

With SSI you have access to the APP where you not only have your manuals. You also have information about centers, dives, and a log book. You will have everything at your fingertips and with easy access.
Do I have to do theory to participate in the SSI Try Scuba experience?
No.
Before the dives, we will give you a briefing explaining the basic knowledge you need to know to go into the water safely.
Do I get any certification with the SSI Try Scuba experience?
If you participate in the SSI Try Scuba, we give you a certificate of participation.
If you do the SSI Basic Diver, we give you a certificate that gives you credits to continue your training with the SSI Open Water Diver certification.
What is the next level, and what do I need access to?
The next level is the SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water Diver.
Do I have to book it in advance?
Yes, the sooner, the better as we have limited places, and we need to know in advance, so we can plan everything as best as possible.
Don't worry if you book in advance, as you can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before, and we will refund you 100%.
